In 1998 a small group of people traveled to the northern coasts of the Dominican Republic to donate food and clothing as well as to volunteer their time to support rebuilding efforts in communities devastated by Hurricane George. That relief effort turned into a yearly Holiday Food Basket donation benefiting impoverished families across the Dominican Republic.

In 2008 the initiative was expanded to Haiti following the tremendous damage done by the impact of a late season hurricane.

The Holiday Food Basket donations continued, and in February 2009, Caring Hearts with Helping Hands was born.

Our organization has touched the lives of more than 11,000 families across Haiti and the Dominican Republic and has helped raised over $100,000.

Today, our organization consists of a growing number of volunteers and is involved in several activities focused on helping communities throughout the Caribbean.

Wondering how we came about?
